Balboa Park & San Diego Engagement | Yung & Leo

Yung & Leo are DA BOMB! I LOVE THEM!!! Over the years I’ve had the honor of photographing or filming this entire family’s milestone events. I was totally stoked when asked to photograph Yung & Leo’s engagement photos.

Because I like to shoot my photographs in the late afternoon (love that late afternoon San Diego light!) we did these on two different days. Day One was at Balboa Park and started out with an entire family session . We then moved into focusing on Yung & Leo. The lighting was balanced and perfect although a little later it kinda started to drizzle (the shot on the Prado Bridge it was just about raining!).

On Day Two we met down near the Convention Center and wandered about taking a variety of images hitting some of my favorite scenes. As the sun crept closer towards the horizon we headed over to Coronado looking at the San Diego skyline where the city was blasted by our classic San Diego sunlight.

Windansea Beach – La Jolla – Engagement | Erica & Doug

I absolutely loved this couple from the first time we met. I am excited to be photographing their March wedding in Orange County, California (keep an eye out for Teasers & Highlights). HOWEVER, before we get to the wedding let me show you some highlights from their engagement session at one of my favorite spots: Windansea Beach in La Jolla, California.

It was picture perfect day! I kid you not because up until that day there was always a thick marine layer hanging about the coast for weeks. Not good if someone is looking for a romantic sunset shot. When I arrived I was the only person on the entire beach. It was a surreal feeling, but made for some awesome picture taking. Regarding the weather: it was overcast days before our shoot and it was overcast for days after out shoot. The Lord was smiling on us that day.
