The Maag Family at Balboa Park

I’ve known Mona for many years and we finally got together and did a fantastic session at Balboa Park. I decided to photograph many of these in the traditional style as we visited various spots within the park.

After kicking it a bit at the Japanese Friendship Garden and the Organ Pavilion we headed over to a spot I call The Prehistoric Tree.

Then it was off the the Alcazar Garden where something was immensely funny. So funny that there was unstoppable giggling.

While setting up a shot this little guy walked up within arms reach. He must have felt jealous and wanted his picture taken.

Balboa Park & San Diego Engagement | Yung & Leo

Yung & Leo are DA BOMB! I LOVE THEM!!! Over the years I’ve had the honor of photographing or filming this entire family’s milestone events. I was totally stoked when asked to photograph Yung & Leo’s engagement photos.

Because I like to shoot my photographs in the late afternoon (love that late afternoon San Diego light!) we did these on two different days. Day One was at Balboa Park and started out with an entire family session . We then moved into focusing on Yung & Leo. The lighting was balanced and perfect although a little later it kinda started to drizzle (the shot on the Prado Bridge it was just about raining!).

On Day Two we met down near the Convention Center and wandered about taking a variety of images hitting some of my favorite scenes. As the sun crept closer towards the horizon we headed over to Coronado looking at the San Diego skyline where the city was blasted by our classic San Diego sunlight.

I hope you enjoy these images!
